The Challenge

The objective was to build TopDetailers.com into a national directory from the ground up, capable of managing and serving a large, dynamic dataset of over 30,000 businesses across 13,000+ unique geographic locations.

Our Solution

We engineered a custom, high-performance tech stack with three main components:

Database Architecture & Optimization

We deployed a self-hosted PostgreSQL database, designed a schema, and implemented advanced indexing strategies tailored to the directory's data structure. We wrote and optimized all database queries to ensure an average response time of under 200ms.

Headless CMS for Data Management

We integrated PayloadCMS as a headless backend. This provided a user-friendly interface for managing the 30,000+ business records while generating a powerful, flexible API for the front-end to consume.

SEO-Optimized Front-End

We used Next.js and its Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) feature to build the front-end. This allowed us to pre-render all 13,000+ city and state pages as static, SEO-friendly HTML.
